BotNet is a word derived from jargon term which means a collection of software robots or bots,which runs automatically. This Botnet is associated with malicious softwares.

A BotNet oprator sends out viruses and worms,which will infect ordinary computers.

BotNets are used for various process such as Click fraud,Spamdexing,SMTP mail replys,etc.,

Botnet lifecycle:

Bot-herder configures initial bot parameters such as infection vectors, payload, stealth, C&C details

1.Register a DDNS

2.Register a static IP

3.Bot-herder launches new bot(s)

4.Bots spread (ie.,viruses or worms)

5.Causes an increase of DDoS being sent to the victim

6.Losing bots to other botnets
