How to improve communication in English

Communication is the basic and key feature for a human being to improve his social life. Effective communication is very essential in all the sectors to achieve success. Communication is basically exchanging of ideas, thoughts, views and emotions. Now-a-days to recruit people in any and every sector, English language is an important factor which recruiters look at to hire people for any job.  Therefore every person should make conscious effort to learn the English language, while you start learning to communicate in English, you will have to unlearn many things, during this journey make sure that you don’t give up in the middle of the journey, always remember hard work is the key to success.

There are numerous ways to improve your English language however some of the best and proved to be successful tips are –

1. Read every day – Reading is one of the most excellent ways to learn and improve English. Read at least a paragraph from English news papers or books every day, make a note of the complicated words and refer to dictionary to understand the meaning ,this might help you to use those words while you are speak.  Come up with 100 complex words every day and find out the meaning of the words. Do this exercise without fail and gradually see the improvement while you speak. Reading not only helps you gain knowledge on the subject matter but also enhances your English.

2. Prepare your mind –Self motivation is the best medicine to get the zeal and passion to achieve anything in life. Prepare your mind in an effective way to develop your communication skills and improve your English within a specified time frame. Try and achieve your target to prove yourself. Do your homework appropriately.

3. English movies and songs – Listen to English music, watch English movies to try and understand the American accent and different kinds of words through which you can improve your verb age as well as continuity of sentence which is really essential to speak good English.

4. Record your voice - While doing the exercise of reading and understanding words, also record your own voice and listen to it, to know where you are lacking and how best you can work on it to improve your own way of speaking.  This exercise will make you conscious of the mistakes you are making.

5. Mirror reading – Stand in front of the mirror and speak in English language, this will help you lose the fear of speaking in public and also improves your presentation skills. By reading or speaking aloud in English for some time consistently will improve your pronunciation of words. This practice might sound strange however it is very effective.

6. Observe and learn – Watch English news channels, observe the way they speak and their mouth movements, try to imitate them by repeating what they say, this will help to improve your intonation.

7. Internet – Make use of the internet in an effective and productive way. There are so many sites which has unlimited resources to improve your language, utilize it and learn various techniques within few days. Solve online exercises , do not forget to keep a tab of all the incorrect answers  and find out the correct resolutions to implement  it while you write or speak in English

8. Think in English – This Exercise might definitely sound strange however this is one of the best practices to improve your language.  Think and speak to yourself in English instead of your mother tongue, express your opinions in English. This will help you speak fluently with proper continuity of sentence.
