jhoota hi sahi

Jhootha Hi Sahi is an upcoming Hindi romantic comedy film directed by Abbas Tyrewala starring John Abraham and Tyrewala's wife, Pakhi. The film was originally titled 1-800-Love later renamed as Call Me Dil but finally will release with the title Jhootha Hi Sahi. The album marks the return of the combo AR Rahman with director Abbas Tyrewala. Expectations are bound to be high since the earlier album of the combination Jaane tu Ya Jaane Na was a big hit and quite popular among youngsters. Hence the music is expected to be youthful and peppy . The question is does the music meet the expectations? Let us see.

Cry Cry:

Cry Cry itna Cry has been sung by Rashid Ali (Kabhi Kabhi Aditi fame) and Shreya Ghoshal. The song is surely going to be an instant hit among youth. It is light and peppy and with its easy lyrics is surely going to win over. The song is too simple in terms of composition and lyrics more like an instant composition. It connects instantly and gets into the head(Rating 4 out of 5)

Maiyya Yashoda (Jamuna Mix):

Maiyya Yashoda (Jamuna Mix) has been sung by Javed Ali and Chinmayi . The lyrics are quite good and somewhat remind of Maiyya Yashoda from Hum Saath Saath Hain. After a long time arrives a song from Rahman on festive spirit of Janmashtami. Last time it was Radha kaise na jale from Lagaan. It is the desi version of Maiyya Yashoda in the album. It has more classic beats(Rating 4 out of 5)

Hello Hello:

Hello Hello sung by Karthik . It reminds one of Karthik calling Karthik .The song is perfectly apt for that movie . The song more about telephone with sounds of ringtones , beeps and ringers thrown in between. (Rating 4 out of 5)

Do Nishaniyaan:

Do Nishaniyaan has the soulful voice of Sonu Nigam . The rendition by Sonu reminds of Sau Dard hai from Jaanemann. The singing by Sonu is such that we feel that no body can sing this song better except for those words like Phone in lyrics which are like brakes in the song. The song, though a sad version, is quite good( Rating 4 out of 5)

Pam Pa Ra:

Pam Pa Ra sung by Shreya Ghoshal with Suzanne D’Mello is more like a playful song with a joyful mood. There many layers in the song track and different instruments with variations in the music including jazz. The music is quite good and reminds of Rahman’s music of Rangeela . (Rating 3.5 out of 5)

I’ll Be waiting:

I’ll Be waiting sung by Vijay Yesudas is a song about wait for the return of loved one. The song has a feel and mix of the Kahin To Hogi Wohand To Bole from Jaane tu Ya Jaane Na. I can’t help by remember more Tu Bole throughout the song. The song has a combination of English lyrics with the hindi which became more popular with Give me some sunshine from 3 Idiots. The song is very good and can be called among the best from the album. (Rating 4 out of 5)

Maiyya Yashoda (Thames Remix):

Maiyya Yashoda (Thames Remix) also sung by Javed Ali and Chinmayi . It is more like remix version of Maiyya Yashoda in the album .The song sounds more good to ears than the Jamuna version. (Rating 4 out of 5)

Do Nishaniyan (Heartbreak Reprise):

Do Nishaniyan (Heartbreak Reprise) sung by Sonu Nigam is a shorter version of Do Nishaniyan and more situational( Rating 3.5 out of 5)

Call Me Dil:

Rashid Ali who started the album with Cry Cry , ends the album with this track. As told earlier the working title for the film was Call Me Dilwhich may be the reason for the track being called as Call Me Dil instead of Jhootha Hi Sahi though the words feature in the track. This may have been conscious decision to incorporate to working titles so that they don’t need an additional song which is a good strategy. The song is also quite good and impressive. ( Rating 4 out of 5)

Final Verdict:

The album is quite impressive. The album is definitely going to be popular among youngsters and the catchy line Cry Cry itna cry will be more popular. The album is good and it meets expectations. (Final rating 4)
