Very often when patients visits doctors state that they have been effected with the disease of thyroid. To tell you the truth, this is a wrong statement made by them because thyroid is not a disease. Rather it is the biggest gland situated in the human body which very much resembles the shape of a butterfly. The effect of hypothyroidism include getting slimmer than normal, excess amount of sweating, depression, increase in blood sugar level, weightlessness etc. Moreover, sometimes the eyes of the person protrudes of the eye socket (Exophthalmos). Besides, skin and nail problems could also be very much related with it. If one goes on without any treatment for a long time then it could result in heart failure or stroke. It could also result in the decrease of potassium level in the body.

First, it should be borne in mind that by doing physical activities like exercise, yoga etc diseases like diabetes, high blood sugar cannot be cured. The same fact holds true to the problem of hypothyroidism also. The best and effective way to cure thyroid is to go for the treatment as soon as it is detected. But yes, in those cases where hypothyroidism occurs because of the lack of iodine in our body could be cured by taking it in sufficient amount along with our diets.

It is important to mention here that in foreign countries as soon as a baby born thyroid tests are conducted or done. This very process is known as Universal Neonatal Screening. Unfortunately, in our country it is not compulsary. But if the parents does so it is detected at an early stage and treatment starts earlier which helps to cure the disease at an early pace.

But usually patients are required to take medicines throughout their lives. Graves disease can be treated in three ways, namely, medical or through medicines, surgery and by radiation therapy. The treatment process though varies from country to country and from physician to physician. The patient should be well aware about what way he chooses for treatment along with the physician. The good thing is that this treatment process is available in India at every nook and corner of the country. We should always keep the fact in mind that through proper treatment thyroid problems could be cured.

Even if thyroid cancer is detected an early and timely treatment would cure it. To end, if anyone gets affected with thyroid he or she must seek the help of the various government and private health clinics and get it cured as early as possible.
