Florescence nightingale was called ``the lady of lamp’’.

Florence was born in the year 1820 a Florence Italy. In those days very restricted to the ladies. Women were not allowed to attend school or to take up jobs. These are done only by men.

Florence was very interested to join in school for studies. As girls were not permitted to go to school, Florence’s father thought her various subjects and languages at home. She was an excellent in study, always eager to learn more.

Florence saw that people did not know how to look after their healthy properly. As a result, they often fell sick, and died of sickness.

She was upset this, and wished to change it. She interest in nursing course. She wanted to become a nurse, and look after and take of the care of the sick and the wounded. People did not like this, because she was a woman, and there were many objections. But Florence bravely overcame everything, and studied hard to become nurse.

Slowly Florence became famous in her field. During the Crimean war, she went turkey to look after the sick and wounded soldiers.

Florence found that the conditions were terrible. The place was full of swamps, dirt, flies and mosquitoes. She decided to improve the conditions.

Under her loving care, the wounded soldiers soon began to recover health. Her fame spread far and wide. People began to ask her for advice. Soon, under her guidance, a nursing school for women was set up easily.

She is remembered even today, for all that she did. Florence proved like it, that women are not weak; they are not frightened of difficulties. They are as strong, capable and clever as men.

Today, if we look around, we will see that most of the nurses in our hospitals are women. Now we called her sister. She do the duty carefully her service need to every patient in small to big hospitals. Night and day service is great.
