Life is Too Short - Do What You Like:

Seriously speaking, life is too short.  So you have to make the most of it.  Treat every minute as your last and enjoy and do whatever you have in mind.  When I scored 82% in 10th, my parents wanted me to do commerce as ours is a business family, but I wanted to do science as that's what most of my friends took.  My parents agreed and thus, began my science journey.

Only after a month I realized science was not meant for me.  I mean I was passing but passing marks was not something I was used to.  Also, I was in bad company and did not focus much on studies.  As a result, I scored only 52% in 12th board exams.  That was a shocker for my parents, society and everyone who knew me.  They always thought I was a gifted child and was kind of a role model in my area.  Honestly, my parents were embarassed.

They asked me the reason and I told them that I was not made for the subject.  They asked me to take a different subject and I took biotechnology.  I liked the subject but again I hit a road block.  No doubt I was a good student and teachers also liked my remarkable grasp on the topic.  But I could not give my final exams as trains were extremely crowded and I could not board it.   This really irked my parents and they were mad at me.  But I knew one thing that they will always be there for me.  But I was also feeling sad for them.

So this time I gave a serious thought as to what I want to do and after careful analysis I opted for a business management degree.  And this was the best decision I took related to my education.  I really exceled in all the subjects and many of my thought breaking ideas were implemented by the college.  I really liked it.

I graduated with flying colors and now was the next step I had to take, whether to go for a regular job or start your own business.  Though I always liked the idea of being my own boss, I still wanted to get the feel of what a company is like, how a company is run and what does an employee think.  I was planning to use this experience when I plan to launch my own venture.  And what a remarkable experience it was.

I worked for 3 reputed companies and numerous small business firms.  And I left all the job after exceling in each.  My scope of thinking was broaden and  my approach towards things changed.  Now I can see myself in others' shoes while making decisions.

It was around this time that I was accepted by Google in their adsense program and working from home was a brand new comcept to me.  It was challenging.  And since I like challenges I decided to give it a go.  After numerous falls, I learnt the trick of the trade and now I am a full time blogger, freelancer, web developer, web designer, SEO specialist and all these skills are self learnt.  And I am making a comfortable living by monetizing these skills.

So What Can You Learn From Me:

  • Goal of education should be knowledge and not getting a good job.
  • Remember you are unique, what is good for your friends may not be good for you.
  • Always ask you're heart, if you will be happy doing this thing.
  • Be honest to yourself.
  • Always take your own decisions.
  • You can make money out of any knowledge and skill you have.  It is not necessary that you can only achieve a desired salary if you are an MBA or CA.  Currently my earnings is at par or maybe even more than what a normal MBA gets.

What You Should Not Learn From Me:

  • Don't be impulsive like me.  Not many parents will take that.
  • Carefully think before you decide what you want in life, rash decision making may burn your bridges behind you.  I normally don't do that.
  • Commit yourself to one goal.  Don't chew more than you can eat.

I will end this article here and I hope you will find this useful.  In short, all I would say is to listen your heart at all times.  WIll be publishing my experience soon as a full time blogger.  So do come back!!
