Electricity is one of the best inventions of science. We cannot imagine our lives without electricity. It has given us powers and lights of which our ancestors were deprived of in earlier days. All our comforts, facilities that we enjoy in our day to day life are the gifts of electricity to us. Our life is totally dependent on electricity and we can't imagine a single second without it. It is the most important milestone that we have seen in the progress of science.

Entertainment today is the most essential necessities of our lives. It is the source of time pass. It always acts as stress buster and useful during the times of relaxation and leisure. Industries would come to a halt and production will suffer a lot if power is shut down. Unaccountable number of goods derived from them would never be produced again. Workers would become unemployed. We as consumers will be deprived of amenities which we can get in bulk from industries. This will in turn affect the progress of the country because of the fall in the national production.

Summers would become unbearable in absence of electricity. Devices like fan, coolers, air-conditioners give cooling effects during summers and make summers bearable. No matter how scorching sun rays might become during summer but man comfortably enjoys all the facilities sitting comfortably in his air-conditioned room. Even cars and other vehicles are fitted with air-conditioners. Thus, during traveling too he does not have to bother about anything. Even trains have air conditioned coaches for a comfortable journey. Along with this ships, air planes, helicopters all are provided with this facility. During winters, man need not suffer and tremble in oozing cold weather. He can comfortably sit in his room and enjoy the heating effect provided by heaters. In certain places and countries temperature may reach 0 degrees. But, due to the invention of electric heaters man can bear and comfortably pass his winters too. Thus, man can comfortably live even after being exposed to the hazards of the climate.

Without electricity night becomes frightening. Modern age will be no more modern in absence of it. Robbers would easily carry out their activities. As soon as sun is set, darkness will linger in each and every fields of our lives and thus we will have no option but to shut down everything. Such is our dependency on it and such is the wonders of electricity.

Electricity helps us in traveling. Cheapest means of transport are electric trains and trams. Earlier trains would run on charcoal and would take plenty of time for covering the distance. After introduction of electricity, electric trains have become quick in covering distances. Super fast trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi are well known for their speed in India. Metros are becoming very popular now a days.

Electricity has reached our fields. It helps us in cultivating our fields in modern ways. Tube wells help us for irrigation purposes. This improves the yield. Apart from this, electricity also helps us in obtaining oil by drilling and mining for the minerals.

Earlier man was deprived of all these facilities. They often dreamed but never enjoyed. Modern man after hard work invented electricity. There are other sources of power too, but electricity is the most important one. It is the greatest invention of man and has brought heavenly bliss on earth. Without electricity it is not possible for man to carry out his day to day activities. It is the best gift of science to mankind. All we have to do is use it carefully and cherish our lives in its presence.
