Yahoo answers have already facility for making your aswers 'anonymous'. Now facebook is also giving this facility. But I wonder why people hesitate to use their name for their views or comments. Personally, I never use this facility in Yahoo answers. I don't bother what others may think about me on reading my posts.

The answer is given in the article- "the app will allow people to use pseudonyms so they can have discussions about topics “which they may not be comfortable connecting to their real names”.---that said even I like using my real name wherever I voice my opinion. Even in Boddunan I have noticed people using a group of letters as a user name and not using their real name. People fear of being misjudged, probably that is why they choose to use a pseudo-name.

Mere pseudonym differs from anonymousity. In Yahoo answers, I have a pseudonym. But there is a choice not to reveal even this. The name of answerer will be jst 'anonymous'.

Okay, this is another tactic by Facebook to draw in more people to use the app..not revealing one's name or not even using a pseudonyms..helps to express oneself without any hindrance or pretence, or without being judged.

As it is mentioned that health focused feature about connecting the people who are suffering from the illness and people who are suffering from some diseases will not reveal their name to the real world. But to communicate with such people and to know about the effects of illness they are giving the option of anonymous. so that people with unknown names can share their illness details with others and what are the precaution steps they are taking against the disease.

For the above it is OK to put the name anonymously but at the same time we cannot judge that the real person who is suffering from the disease is posting it.

Creating an online support group for people suffering from some or the other ailment is a good initiative. by maintaining the anonymity but not sure if people will really benefit out of this.
