One of the most surprising things happened in the last couple of days, while Sunil Chetri, an Indian footballer pleaded the fans to come to the Stadium to watch them play, the very next match to be held in Mumbai of India vs Kenya has seen full house!!! Isn't it a very nice response by the fans of football? So patriotic response from the Indians, specifically Mumbaikars, isn't it?

It is good sign that sports other than cricket is finding its way in our country. We all have to promote these kind of initiative to make India a sports country in real sense

Football is ancient game In India it is popular in Eastern states. Cricket, Tennis and Badminton are expensive game but foot ball is not so expensive.

True, I never expected these changes would actually happen & that it was possible that it could happen, but amazingly the change is slowly coming into a Cricket infested Country by promotion, patriotism, cricket players promotion of other sports has played a good part for the betterment of the Country sports

True, even celebrities are making their impact by making their contribution to bring equal importance to each and every sport & it is really heartening to see that change. Hope our Country players in each and every sport start getting their due benefit in the course of time by increased paycheck, recognition, promotion, etc.

India wins in final of Intercontinental cup against Kenya by blanking 2-0.

The first half was relatively easy for the Indians as Chetri scored 2 goals in 7th & 28th minute & became the joint 2nd highest 'active' goal scorer in football (64 Goals) & now stands next to Cristiano Ronaldo (81 goals).

Chetri, the Indian captain is now on 21st rank in terms of goals scored on international level (including retired players), the top goal scorer in history of football is having 109 goals by Ali Daei from Iran.

Hope the involvement of audience will be as much as in this tournament for the next year January AFC Asia Cup for which this tournament was taken as a preparation ground by the Indian team.

The 2nd half however was much more interesting with Kenyans going aggressive right from the word go & attacking the goal post several times on target & even getting few penalty corners. However none were converted into goals, thanks to Gurpreet Sandhu who did not let even a single time let the ball past him.

A lot of credit must go to the goalkeeper Gurpreet Sandhu who hasn't conceded even a single goal in this tournament!!! In the only match in which he did not play against New Zealand where 7 players where changed, India lost 1-2 to them. So we can understand the magnitude of importance of this player as well.

It was a good tournament for India & the players should take it forward from hereon. Wishing Indian football team, the goal keeper & their captain a very all the best for their future tournaments & series
