Teenagers in the modern world are influenced by technology and social media which hasa positive as well as a negative impact on them. With the advancement in technology, we are able to connect with people across the globe. Teenagers are at a stage where they are still developing and discovering themselves. Attraction to the opposite sex is common during this stage. Social media proves to be a platform where these teens connect with each other and share their interests. For instance, one teen boy may connect with another teen girl. They continue texting on a regular basis which leads to feelings developing for each other and a bond is being formed. The problem with this issue is that both of them don't know each other personally. There is no guarantee of who is behind the screen and what intentons that the other person holds. The risk is quite heavy. With an increase in cyber crimes, one cannot fully trust the other person online. Also, a lot of time is wasted being online and lesser time is spent with friends, family and in academic related works. It is hence necessary to be careful and aware when connecting with people online, especially for teenagers who are prone to such dangers.
