It is extremely prestigious job and calls for a very high level of aptitude, intelligence, precision and skill. Qualification and training

There are a number of stages to becoming a commercial pilot. Those who successfully attain the SPL qualification, can move on to the next stage of attaining a Private pilot license (PPL) to qualify for the PPL exam one need to train with a minimum of 60 hours of flying. This includes flights where the instructor has accompanied the candidate, flights where he has singly flown cross country. This apart, at the time of examination one needs to b minimum of 17 years, have 10+2 qualification and a medical fitness certificate issued by ‘Armed forces central Medical Establishment ‘(AFCME). After attaining the PPL certification, one can take the final steps to getting the commercial Pilots’ license (CPL). Doing so required thee aspirant to have a minimum of 250 hours of flying experience during training, including 60 hours for the PPL, a medical fitness certification, the test of which is held in new Delhi and an examination on air navigation, technical, planning and communications in the form of radio and wireless transmission. There after the pilot becomes eligible to join any airline that will also put him/her through its own in-house training programmer ranging from six months to a year or more.
