We just need to click a button and we could capture leaders, sports person, day to day incidences and even the common men. In a few words, yes, we can say this is photography. Many of us have the hobby of shooting photographs with cameras and if this hobby of ours changes into profession and carrier then we would be perhaps the happiest person living on this mother earth. Just think about it if you take photography as your profession then this profession is not less attractive and interesting as any other profession. Though history of photography is very big and it is very hard to put all the information relating to it in just a few articles but it makes us quite astonished to think that this profession of photography and professional photographers were still there two decades ago and believe me their jobs were not easier. The reason why I say so because during those days a photographer was not only required to shoot and submit the photographs quickly but also was burdened to develop the photographs. If a photographer was required to move to some remote corners of the world then he had to carry all the related equipments along with him. It was the year 1990 when digital cameras intervened the scenario and the head ache of photographers were relieved to a great extent. Now-a-days photographs are paired in Internet also and there are numerous sites available for us to do the job. Beside taking photographs, a professional photographer should also know the different arts relating to photography like the appropriate usage of lights during photo shoots and the usage of different equipments related to it. A photographer is required to have a sound knowledge about which photograph of his would be selected and which would be rejected. Maybe a photographer have a good nack of shooting photographs but he should be elegant enough to mature his art into perfection to be a professional or seasoned photographer. There is a very old saying related with photography that a good photograph is equivalent to a thousands words and this thing should be into the minds of a professional photographer while shooting photographs.

Now-a-days, in India there is a craze to become a professional photographer and the most interesting thing is that we find institutions which provide this course are found in almost in every cities. The Fergusson College at Pune provides one year duration course on photography and audio visual productions. There is also the course of still photography and any graduate could apply for the same. Besides, there is another institute called the International School of Photography in New Delhi and National Institute of Photography in Kolkata which provides a three months short course on photography.

In the job market there is a whole lot of opportunities available for a qualified photographer. For instance say in the print and electronic media a photographer can work as a photo journalist. As a photo journalist he is required to keep in mind the types of photos to be provided with the type of incidences. Sometimes a photo journalist is required to carry on the responsibilities of a feature photographer. Besides, one can also find job opportunities with fashion photography. One can very easily earn a name and fame with this profession. Some of photographers who want to take some adventure in their professional life they can join as a wild life photographer. In this case, he would be required to shoot photos of wild animals and birds. Moreover, if one has madness relating to sports, he could take the profession of a sports photographer. Further, a photographer can also work in the Police and C.I.D. departments and they will be known as forensic photographers. The job prospective would be to shoot photos of the crime world. A photographer can also opt for a freelancing career. A freelancing photographer sells his photographs and thereby earns his living. So now we see the whole range of options available for a professional photographer.
Salary
Like any other profession a photographers salary depends upon his capabilities, experiences and hard work. It is very hard to decide a photographer's salary. One can start his career in photography as a freelancer. Apart from freelancing one can start his carrier in a photo studio as an assistant under the guidance of an experienced photographer. In this case the amount of salary is not high but once one gets established then he doesn't have to look back anymore.
In the profession of photography, there is fun, adventure and a way to express yourself to the world. Just tell me in how many profession one gets these priceless things.
