Following is the list of ingredients which are required to prepare kanda poha and its methods of preparation to follow it.

 

Ingredients :-

  • Thick Poha ...  2 cups
  • Onions ... 3 medium sized
  • Green chillies ... 3 - 4
  • Fresh coriander leaves ... a few sprigs
  • Curry leaves ... 8 - 10
  • Roasted peanuts ... 1/4 cup
  • Oil ... 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder ... 1 teaspoon
  • Salt ... to taste
  • Lemon juice ... 1 tablespoon

Method of Preparation :-

  • Wash poha thoroughly. Keep in a utensil from which excess water can be easily drained out.
  • Peel, wash and chop onions. Wash green chillies as well. Wash and pat dry curry leaves. Crush peanuts , if required.
  • Heat oil in pan. Add onions and stir fry on medium heat till they (onions) start turning brown. Then add green chillies, curry leaves, crushed peanuts and continue to cook for two to three minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, poha and salt. Mix them well and cook, on low heat and make sure to cover it for four or five minutes.
  • Add lemon juice. Mix well and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
