'Spoon-Feeding' is feeding or helping with the simplest device or mechanism. The term literally means 'feeding with a spoon'. The mother feeds the baby or the child with a spoon. In the western countries people uses the knife, the fork and the spoon to feed themselves. In the eastern countries too many thousands of families adopt spoon-feeding, that is feeding themselves with the spoon while the other use their hands to eat food. The sick are often fed with the spoon to avoid using the dirty hands to feed the children or the sick. Using the spoon makes the feeding smooth simple , easy and safe. The same principle is adopted to simplify work in many fields.

In the field of education spoon-feeind is resorted to by many teachers who are ambitious to make all their students write the important points in their answers and pass in the examinations. Their spoon-feeding consists of dictating notes in the class-rom, disturbing typed or cyclostyled or printed copies of questions and answers. The printed guides sold at book stalls also serve the students with the necessary and sufficient information to write their examination and pass. Spoon-feeding saves them from much hard work and from laborious study of not only text books but also many extra books recommended by their teachers or professors.

The typewriter and the teleprinter are another kind of spoon-feeding device. Instead of writing with the pen or pencil in the hand, legibly or illegibly, one can typewrite the matter which becomes legible and easy to read . The telephone, cell phone , internet the telecommunication and the wireless are the other forms of spoon-feeding. Instead of traveling to the place of a relative or friend or officer or business man, one can speak to him through such devices or simply text him through SMS or email over the internet and cell phone devices or through any other wireless communication devices.

Books, newspapers and photographs are also spoon-feeding methods. They save people from serious thinking. Everybody wants his life to be made easy, safe and comfortable by the other people through their sufferings and efforts. People would like to have all education, all religious teaching, all religious experiences, all the entertainment and all the knowledge of life, men and matters to be offered to them in the shape of tablets so that they can easily and quickly get each of them merely swallowing a suitable tablet.

Nobody wants to find things for himself. Every student wants to get the maximum knowledge of a subject in the shortest way and in the shortest time period possible so that he may have enough energy and time to devote to seeing the T.V programs , the film-shows and matches. He does not want to study a large number of books to increase his vocabulary, his knowledge, his thinking power and his critical talent . He wants to have such examinations as asking him to write single-word answers or merely to put a tick mark over the correct word or correct phrase in a group of words or phrases. As a result, he loses the capacity to write even a single sentence fully and correctly. If this system of examinations is encouraged, it may help the examiners who value the answer papers, but it will certainly ruin the future generations. The people of the future will gradually lose the power of speaking m question and answer in single words for  a decade or two and then use only sounds to communicate with one another as the primitives did before the birth of the human language. One of the gifts given to mankind , namely, the power of speech which distinguishes Man from the beast, will have been killed by the spoon-feeding devices.

The typewriter and its allies kill the art of writing with the hand. The camera kills the art of sketching, drawing and painting. The transport and communication media kill the profitable exercise of walking. Letter-writing is also a kind of spoon-feeding which kills it. Scientific tools, made on the basis of the scientific discoveries and inventions, are spoon-feeding things which offer simple, easy and cheap comforts and ways of doing this things and hard works in our life at the cost of our personal efforts, personal experiences and activeness. Spoon-fed,we grow lazy and careless, and find time and resources to become villainous and immoral in all possible ways.
