What is Myopia?

Myopia is the term used to define short sightedness. Light from a distant object forms an image before it reaches the retina. This could be because the eye is too long, or the cornea or crystalline lens is too strong.

A myopic person has clear vision when looking at objects close to them, but distant objects will appear blurred.

Myopia is an eye disease, where the person suffers from Myopia short sightedness, meaning the person cannot see objects placed at a distance.

Yes it is a dangerous disease. happens with very less people but loss the sight very soon.

New thing for me too, after researching a bit, I came to know that it's an eye disease where light came into eye is not set directly comes on retina but in front of it, because of that long distant objects seems out of focus..

i have also this problem I can't read small letters from distance, more than 3'. I am using glass for it.

My advice to your friend is to wear a concave lens of appropriate power so that the number (-9.75) stays stagnant. If at all it doesn't work then go ahead with surgery.There is a surgery for myopia in which they remove lens so that the power comes down. But keep surgery as a last option.
