INDIA is a land of villages. Most of the people of our country live in village.So, the future of INDIA depends on the improvement of living conditions in villages. Unfortunately the villages of our country have been neglected for a long time. The INDIAN villages are places of poverty, want, insanitation, and diseases. Majority of the people living in village are poor and illiterate. They depend on agriculture. They do not use modern methods of agriculture. There is lack of facilities for irrigation in our villages. So, agriculture often becomes gambling. There are no good roads in the villages of our country. There are no good doctors. Every year many people die of various diseases owing to lack of good doctors in villages. Most of the villagers are illiterate and superstitious. They cannot march with time. They waste much of their time in useless gossip. They do not try to improve their lot. Since the independence of the country the government has been trying to improve the condition of the villages. Many schemes have been started to help all sections of the people. Many roads have been constructed to connect the villages with towns. Electricity has come to many villages in recent years. The villagers are being trained in the scientific methods of agriculture. The government encourages them to establish small scale industries. New school have been opened in remote villages. Medical facilities are being given to the villagers. The village panchayats have been formed for the proper development of villages. Thus the government has been trying to change the pattern of life in our villages. The FUTURE of INDIA villages is certainly bright. We can hope that in future our villages will be nice places to live in.
