Diarrhea is basically the passage of stools that are watery and loose. Sometimes it is accompanied by vomiting, stomach cramps, and fever. This condition usually occurs due to some viral or bacterial infection, food allergies, some problem in the digestive tract, and even at times, due to overeating. The condition can vary between being mild, acute, and chronic. If it has reached the chronic stage, then you need to consult your local physician immediately. As such, because of excessive lose of water through stools and vomiting, dehydration sets in very fast, leading to fatigue. The fatigue is increased further due to lose of vitamins and minerals that get thrown out of the body along with the water. Therefore, to curb diarrhea, and recover from it, all these factors will need to be taken into consideration. The first order of the day is to replace the lost water. However, do not drink plain water. Add a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of sugar to a bottle of water and keep sipping this water every few minutes. Ginger has natural properties that take care of muscle spasms and the subsequent pain. Add a piece of ginger to your tea each time you have it.

Drink at least one liter of buttermilk throughout the day. Prepare the buttermilk at home by taking one part curd and adding ten parts of water to it. Add a little bit of salt and sugar to mix and blend it well. Twice a day eat one banana with curd. Make a mixture of one teaspoon each of lemon juice and ginger juice, and add half a teaspoon of pepper powder to it. Take this mixture at least once a day. Drink a mixture of carrot and cucumber juice as these will help to restore the lost vitamins and minerals. Preferably, the first day, ensure that most of your food intake is in the form of liquids, as eating anything solid and heavy will just aggravate the situation further. If, however, you do feel like eating something solid, eat apples and pomegranate. You can also cook rice till it becomes very soft and have that with curd. Take cumin and fenugreek seeds in equal proportion and grind them into a fine powder. Add one teaspoon of this mixture to four teaspoons of curd. Take this mixture at least three times a day. Grind curry leaves, mix them with honey, and have it first thing in the morning.
