What's the difference between PHA and FA in Hindi Alphabets

    Here is the difference

    Pha is combination of 2+3


    But what's the difference between these 2.....? Is their any difference in their usage?

    So today we had a lesson on Hindi Varn mala even now I am also clear about pha and fa. :)

    But I knew it some to the Urdu words we use in Hindi too in daily usage. :)


    Then you should start a thread related to Urdu words but do it in a manner that it looks some hing unique and long lasting.


    I will start it don't worry but I don't if people know Urdu here. :woohoo:

    But it's pronounced as Pha, not fa....that's why am asking so

    If there any significance of 'dot' below that letter?


    Dot below 'fa' will make this 'pha'. This is generally about Urdu words used in Hindi.

    Look if you write in Hindi Finland that is FA , Foreign, that is also FA but photo despite starting with ph in English is FA in Hindi. Flower is FA but phone is FA. even phase is pronounced with FA probably if I have to give an example I shall have to use phew that begins with PH. or PHOOL for flowers is the best example of ph.

    It appears Hindi alphabets/words contain Pha only.
    For example...all those words we suggested...like fool....belongs to English dictionary.....

    No, Phool, Phonics and phew are pha but you know there is no alphabet as ph combined in Hindi neither in English. Even the word alphabet is best example of PH.

    Let me tell you something secret...
    We trivandrum people have a problem.... :P

    We pronounce 'bha' as fa ;) . It's very difficult for our tongue .....now also am in the learning stage...
    But people in the middle Kerala and north pronounce it as 'ba'. :woohoo: :woohoo:

    So, both are wrong pronounciations....... :P

    Still now am trying to correct it...somewhat I achieved also :evil: :whistle:
